A romantic comedy starring Amanda Byrnes as Viola, who disguises herself as a boy, taking the place of her bother on his soccer team.

In 1978 in the USA, organized women’s soccer was rare. Teenager Gracie must overcome her disapproving parents, an uninterested school, and an unsupportive team in order to play football.
Back of the Net (2019) – Amazon Prime Video – Certificate: Universal
A new student at a soccer academy is determined to beat her rival's team in the national tournament.

A sports documentary about the rise of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team.
Her Best Move (2007) – Amazon Prime Video – Certificate: Universal
This comedy focuses on how Sara develops her sense of self while playing football, when she is offered a chance to play on the US Women’s National Team.
Offside (2006) – Amazon Prime Video - Certificate: PG
The struggle of Women in a country that excludes them from entering the football stadiums.
Switching Goals (1999) – Amazon Prime Video – Certificate: Universal
A great one for the kids! In this comedy, Mary-Kate and Ashley star as soccer-playing sisters who scheme to trade teams by secretly trading places. But as the plan unfolds, there's chaos on and off the field.
Soccer Mom (2008) – Amazon Prime Video - Certificate: PG
A warm-hearted comedy, about a compulsive soccer mom who poses as a famous Italian soccer star, hired to coach her daughter's struggling football team.
A great show to catch up on BBC iPlayer at the moment is Mustangs FC - a comedy drama about a group of girls who start their own football team.

BBC iPlayer also has a selection of women’s football, including coverage of the SheBelieves Cup, as well a look back at the FIFA 2019 Women’s World Cup.
