A Guide to Electric Picnic

Electric Picnic

An Essential Guide to Electric Picnic this Weekend

As Electric Picnic in County Laois draws closer, and for those of you fortunate enough to be going (including all of you who bagged free tickets as part of our series of competitions!), we have pulled together a guide to ensure you make the most out of the weekend. From pitching your tent to packing the right food and drink, we have you covered for the three-day festival.

Line-up

This year’s Electric Picnic line-up looks be just as – if not more - impressive as it has been in previous years. Across the different stages, there is an eclectic mix of music that will no doubt impress the masses. Acts include The XX, Pete Tong and London Grammar, as well as several lesser known performers handpicked by organisers. Check out the full line-up here.

Food and Drink

With a vast array of delicious food vendors at the festival it will be hard not to succumb to the many food options, however, if you are keen to save a few pennies over the weekend then it might be a an idea to bring snacks and pre-made meals to ensure you don’t spend all your cash at once.

Any glass items over 100ml are prohibited at the festival so make sure to bring any drinks (or liquids) in plastic bottles.

Petty Cash

Although there are various ATMs located at the festival, it would be wise to bring enough cash to see you through the first night at least.  In fact, it will serve you well to have cash put aside for the whole weekend, especially at the risk of ATMs machines running out of cash during the three-day festival.

Camping

Unless you have splashed out on a yurt or other boutique style of camping, it is likely that you will have to pitch your own tent when camping at Electric Picnic. When doing so, be sure to pitch your tent wisely i.e. far away from the noise of the main arena but close enough to walk to it throughout the weekend.  See map above to get your bearings right ahead of the festival.

Stay Green

The Electric Picnic team is big on making the festival more environmentally friendly. So much so that it has teamed up with Julies Bicycle, a non-for-profit organisation working on sustainability with the creative industries, to work towards reducing waste and carbon emissions during the weekend.
