Game Changers

Electric Ireland has proudly powered women’s football across Northern Ireland since 2017.

Through the internationally recognised award-winning ‘Game Changers’ campaign and in partnership with the Irish FA, Electric Ireland continues to create and build opportunities for girls and women across all levels of the game, from grassroots to the elite, through tailored programmes that have helped drive attendance and participation in the women’s game locally.

Since the first kick off, Game Changers has become more than a campaign – it has grown into a movement, encouraging the next generation to shoot for the stars. We are truly committed to supporting the continued rise of women in sport across Northern Ireland, and you can follow the conversation at #GameChangersNI

Darkness into Light

At Electric Ireland we’ve proudly supported Northern Ireland charities and communities through Darkness into Light since 2013.

Read more on our Darkness into Light page.

Organised by Pieta and taking place on the first Saturday morning in May, Darkness into Light is an annual sunrise event to raise awareness around suicide and self-harm that takes places around Ireland and across the world.

Beginning in darkness at 4:15am and continuing into sunrise, symbolising the journey from despair into hope, Darkness into Light opens up the opportunity for people to walk, run, swim or cycle in support of Pieta and Northern Ireland partner charities who provide suicide prevention and bereavement services across local communities.

GAA & Camogie Minors

We’re also proud sponsors of the GAA All-Ireland Minor Championships and in 2023 announced new title sponsorship of the Electric Ireland Camogie All-Ireland Minor Championships.

Our #ThisIsMajor campaign seeks to recognise the significance of the Minor Championships not only to the players on the field, but also to their families and the communities they represent.

Electric Ireland understands participation in Gaelic Games plays a key role in supporting young people shape their future success on and off the field of play. Over the last 10 years, we have supported the development of future inter-county GAA stars and look forward to capturing everything major about playing minor in the years ahead.

GAA Higher Education Competitions

In GAA, we know it’s all about your place of birth. School against school. Parish against parish. County against county. It’s all dictated by the place of birth.

The Third Level Team is the only team that isn’t predetermined by place of birth. It is a team of different peers, shaped from a shared journey. Where traditional enemies become teammates and familiar foes become friends. What they share is a desire to win together.

Our sponsorship of the GAA Higher Education Championships captures these unique rivalries and unexpected alliances through our #FirstClassRivals campaign, helping to nurture the sport’s emerging talent while inspiring future generations.

Echoing our work on women’s football, this sponsorship reaffirms Electric Ireland's passion and commitment to the support and development of female players across grassroots, with the Third Level Championships and the Camogie Association’s Hurl With Me programme placing a particular focus on the sport’s rising stars.

We understand the very positive lasting impact of women playing sport and so are delighted to be supporting the development of the Camogie Minor and Third level Camogie Championships.
