Guide to understanding your electricity bill

1. Bill Address
This is your chosen postal address for your bill.

2. Invoice number
Each bill has its own invoice number.

3. Account number
This is your Electric Ireland electricity account number. Always quote this number when contacting Electric Ireland.

4. Usage period
This is the period for which your electricity consumption is billed.

5. Supply address 
A different address will only be shown here on the bill if the postal address is different to the supply address.

6. Contact Details
These are contact numbers you can call if your supply is lost, or if you have metering enquiries, or customer account queries.

7. MPRN
 
The MPRN (Meter Point Registration Number) identifies your connection to the NIE Network and is unique to your current premises. You need to quote this number if you call NIE Networks with a query.

8. UOS, MCC, Profile 
Used to identify Meter Configuration and usage Profile.

There are three different messages that can appear: 
      1. An NIE Networks technician visited your premises and read your meter (A).  
      2. An estimated reading supplied by NIE Networks based on previous readings (E)
      3.You supplied us with your meter readings (C).

10. Balance brought forward
This is the total balance due from your previous billing period.

11. Price Plan
This is your Electric Ireland electricity price plan name.

12. Total due
This is the total amount due for payment.
